Election Day Volunteers
Are you interested in making a real, meaningful difference in Philadelphia on Election Day?
The Philadelphia Bar Association’s Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention needs volunteers to work half or full day shifts on Election Day (May 16, 2016) to hand out its judicial candidate ratings to voters at polling places across the City. This is part of a massive effort to not just promulgate the ratings more effectively, but to collect data for use in future judicial election years.
The Commission evaluates judicial candidates to help voters make decisions about their qualifications for judicial office. Handing out the ratings at polling places will help to educate voters as to which candidates are recommended by the Commission as they are preparing to cast important votes for judicial vacancies.
Election Day shifts will be either early (7 am to 1:30 pm) or late (1:30 pm to 8 pm). If you can commit to working one of these shifts, please email Matt Olesh (molesh@chamberlainlaw.com) with your name, shift preference, email address and cell phone number.
Please note: You do not need to be an attorney to participate in this effort! Encourage your non-attorney friends to volunteer as well! We will be staffing 100 polling places across Philadelphia, so we need all the help we can get.
