HBALEF scholarships are available on a competitive basis to law students with a demonstrated commitment to supporting and effecting change within the Hispanic community. The number of scholarships awarded each year varies depending on fundraising but typically ranges from six to eight scholarships annually. In recent years, scholarship amounts have ranged from $3,000 to $4,000 per recipient. Please note that the number and amount of scholarships is subject to change.
To be eligible for a 2025 HBALEF scholarship, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
Be enrolled at an accredited law school located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware during the 2025-2026 academic year;
Be a member of the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania (HBA-PA) - law student membership is free and open to all;
Exhibit a strong commitment to advancing and creating positive change within the Hispanic community; and
Demonstrate personal growth, leadership, and resilience by overcoming significant personal, academic, or professional challenges.
