The Hispanic National Bar Association Legal Education Fund is proud to announce that the 2016 Legal Education Action Program (LEAP) application period is open!

LEAP is a week-long legal education pipeline program aimed at engaging diverse high school youth to pursue law, leadership and higher education. The program is designed for high school students currently in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. Promising first generation 12th grade students may also be considered if they have not yet been accepted to a community college or 4-year university. LEAP also accepts applications from DREAMERs who are interested in becoming leaders within their community. HNBA Legal Education Fund will bring approximately 30 Latino high school students to THE ST. THOMAS UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL AND STUDENT HOUSING in Miami, Florida to undertake an intro to law school course, meet with members of the bench or bar, have meetings with elected officials, tour the Federal courthouse, meet key Hispanic leaders, visit historic sites, prepare and compete in a Mock Trial program and develop a deeper understanding of how they can achieve higher education goals. This is a life shaping experience for the students accepted into the program.
